Dip Into Bliss: Structure

This is the month of October, and it’s the month about foundation. Structure is what we’ve chosen for this week; structure, construct, formation- that’s what I think of when I think of structure.

“Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

That quote is so profound. I talk about this all the time. When I rise, you rise. When you rise, I rise. And I think in the space of consciousness, even in the space of yoga or the space of food, there are many folks with the thinking that says, it is actually my way, it should be this way, this is the food you eat, or this is the work you do, or this is how you should be vibrating, whether it’s around mission or impact, or whatever might be some of the social language of the moment. I think we have to understand that it’s actually one thing- interdependence. We are dependent on one another. I am because you are. You are because I am. We are one.

I think that it’s really important to maintain structure while exercising creativity. I think those two things can happen. When you have something structured, that means you have a format, let’s call it a construct, of how you want something to flow and go. A great example is the videos I make for my YouTube channel. We have to think of what we want to offer you, what the month of October means to us, what stone we want it to be, the things we want to pull from, the different leaders and thinkers that could inspire you- that’s the creativity and the imagination. The construct and structure is in writing it down, figuring out what the flow is going to be, and filming the video, editing it, uploading it, sharing it, and asking you to share it, too.
